Mrs. Nancy Valeria Barboza-Maldonado
Mrs. Barboza-Maldonado joined the Sharyland
ISD family the 2014-2015 school year, nearly ten years after graduating from
Sharyland High School in 2005. She is part
of the Business Education CTE Department at Sharyland High School, and also
serves as the Business Professionals
of America Head Advisor.
Mrs. Barboza-Maldonado loves her Alma Mater and genuinely cares for the young adults attending
Sharyland High School. Her goal is to be
able to provide students with skills that they will utilize in the real world,
and to help transition them without difficulty into a post-secondary education or the world
of work.
Mrs. Barboza-Maldonado graduated from
the University of Texas Pan-American – UTPA in 2009 with a bachelor’s degree in
Business Administration in Marketing with a Minor in Spanish. Currently, she is pursuing her MBA with a Marketing specialization.
Her professional career prior
to becoming an educator includes eight years of banking experience. Throughout that time, she was also highly
involved in the community through United Way of South Texas, for which she was
named Loaned Executive of Year in 2010. She
is also an alumnus of Leadership McAllen’s Class XXXI.
An important aspect of her
life is family-her husband (also en educator and coach for a neighboring school
district), her daughter Valerie, her mom, and her siblings who are also teachers for Sharyland ISD.
