I was born in Monterrey, N.L., México, but spent my childhood in Chicago. My family and I went back to México in my early teens, so I finished school in my native Monterrey. I went to Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM)  where I graduated from high school and college.  I received a B.A. Degree in Modern Languages with three majors in ELA, ESL, and Spanish. Some years ago I finally had the opportunity to continue my education by pursuing two master's degree. I received my Master of Education in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) from Grand Canyon University in 2009 and a second master's degree of Education in Curriculum and Instruction in Reading in Secondary Level in 2015. I have worked teaching English and Spanish as foreign languages and English and Spanish Language Arts. My experience of over 30 years covers all levels; nevertheless, high school, adult education, and college teaching are what I have enjoyed the most! In the evenings and on Saturdays I also  work teaching English as a foreign language to adults. I am also an adjunct professor at UTRGV teaching for the Department of Bilingual and Literacy Studies.
I have two wonderful children, Ernesto and Tatiana. They are my inspiration and the loves of my life. They both graduated from Sharyland High School.
My goal as a teacher is to touch the heart of every single one of my students. My favorite quote is "Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans." by John Lennon.
