Kayla Cepeda will be receiving a $200 scholarship to attend University of Texas Permian Basin in Odessa. Her future plans include majoring in Kinesiology and continuing her education to achieve a Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree. Kayla was on the SHS Cross Country and Girls Soccer Teams this year. Kayla said this about her experience as an active member and officer of the BCM Club, "The BCM Club has encouraged me to think critically and engage in stories. This club assisted in my preparation for the future. It has made the last two years of high school a great experience."
Cathy Gamboa will be receiving a $200 scholarship to attend UTRGV. Her future plans include majoring in Business with a minor in Psychology. She plans to pursue a career as a real estate agent. Cathy was a member of the Girls Golf Team this year. Cathy said this about her experiencing reading books and attending a virtual author visit this year, "A lot of people love to read books especially when it comes to trying to escape. Books give us a window into other people's thoughts and feelings and it lets people realize that we are not so alone in this world. Other people go through the same thing that you do...feel the same things, and books really let us see that."
