Mrs. Barboza-Maldonado is delighted to be back to her Alma Mater and genuinely cares for the young adults attending Sharyland High School.  Her goal is to be able to provide students with skills that they will utilize in the real world, and to transition them without difficulty into a postsecondary education or the world of work.

The courses that she is currently teaching are: BIM – Business Information Management, Global Business, Banking and Financial Services, Business Law, Business Management, and Human Resources Management.

Mrs. Barboza-Maldonado graduated from the University of Texas Pan-American – UTPA in 2009 with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in Marketing.  She majored in Marketing and minored in Spanish.

Her professional career prior to becoming an educator includes eight years of banking experience.  Throughout that time, she was also highly involved in the community through United Way of South Texas, for which she was named Loaned Executive of Year in 2010.  She is also an alumnus of Leadership McAllen’s Class XXXI.

An important aspect of her life is family-her husband (also en educator and coach for a neighboring school district), her mother, her twin brothers (who are double majoring in Education and Kinesiology), and her soon to be daughter Valerie.
