Course Objective: Students will build a foundation for functions such as linear, absolute value, quadratic, square root, exponential, logarithmic, polynomial, cubic, and rational. Students will apply concepts to real world situations and communicate mathematically. This course will prepare students for college
courses.

Textbook: Savvas Texas Algebra II – Randall I. Charles, Allan E. Bellman, Basia Hall, William G. Handlin, Sr., Dan Kennedy, Stuart J. Murphy, Grant Wiggins

Materials: Laptop, Algebra II Companion Book (provided by teacher), paper and pencils.

Expectations

Be respectful: Student and teachers will always show respect to one another. Part of being respectful means being on time, doing your work, participating, using appropriate language, and keeping the classroom clean.

Be prepared: Students should have their materials ready at the beginning of class, including their classroom calculator. Homework should be turned in on time. Students should study and be prepared for all upcoming exams.

Be responsible: Students should do their work, ask questions, and practice. In Algebra II, concepts will expand on one another so it is important for students to stay on track with the class work. It is the student’s responsibility to do missed work when absent. Late work is not accepted.

Grading Policy:
60% Major Assignments (Exams) 
40% Minor Assignments (Daily Classwork, Homework & Quizzes)

Absences:  If and when absent, assignments will be placed on Google Classroom. It is important for the student to have clear communication with the teacher and not stay behind. Only excused absences will allow for make-up work. 

Tutoring: There will be on-campus tutoring on Monday and Wednesday after school from 4:15 pm - 4:45 pm. Tutoring times are subject to change if instruction is done remotely.
